development

The Eel Ground Health and Wellness Centre staff have taken proactive measures to address the unique needs of their community members by encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and fostering a sense of togetherness through community events, all with the aim of promoting overall wellness.

Health Services

At our health centre, we provide personalized care and support to our community members through the expertise of a Registered Nurse and a Certified Fitness Instructor. In addition to this, we offer a range of health and wellness educational workshops, free screenings and testing, drop-in clinics, and Mobile Optical appointments, with a focus on prevention to ensure our community members have the resources and knowledge they need to maintain good health.

We also understand the importance of community and culture in promoting health and wellness. That's why we organize fun family activities, nutritional cooking and parenting classes, physical fitness programs, and Learn to Sing and Drum Mi'kmaq Songs classes. Our aim is to support the overall health and wellness of our community members by providing the right resources, support, and education for anyone to achieve optimal health and live a fulfilling, balanced life.

Wellness Program

The Eel Ground Wellness Program offers a personalized and holistic approach incorporating cultural traditions, leading to good health and a sense of well-being.  After your initial health and physical assessment, we build a program that is suitable in meeting your personal health goals.  Come into the Health Centre and register to enroll in the program.  A Registered Nurse and a fitness instructor are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9am to 12pm.
